HAPPY WEEKEND, GREETINGS TO YOU ALL
Yesterday, I was on a phone call with a friend who left Nigeria some time ago and is now in a country where living condition is allot better.
Part of what we discussed was the way our country, Nigeria, is becoming more and more difficult for the common man to survive. One thing we said on a lighter note is that, it is no longer fanciful to tell someone in Nigeria: “Enjoy a great day.” And so on.
Well, in as much as we are managing to get along with the situation, the encouraging word is: KEEP HOPE ALIVE.
Like I once said in a post on this platform, the hardships we are going through are caused by people; and these people we know. We are either directly or indirectly connected to them. Some of us encourage them by our demands, connivance, praise singing and so on.
The only way out is to realize that if we agree to suffer, to die, that is when we will not suffer and we will not die.
This is what I mean. The reason we go “cap in hand” to get what rightly belong to us is because we feel if we ask upon our right we will suffer. Why we see and do not talk is because we are afraid we will be jailed or harmed.
For as long as these are our fears, we will continue to live in it.
As you spend your weekend, ponder on what you, as an individual, can do to make a change and how collectively we can join hearts to fight the situation in our country.
We shall overcome.
Have a nice weekend.
