(Lokoja)

In what concerned residents of kogi state have described as possible end to the face-off between kogi state government and the management of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC),some officials of the centre have visited the state.

Duaglobalnews gathered that the visit of the officials of the Communications Division of the centre is to train Communications and Information Officers of Main Stream Media across the State.

This is aimed at equipping them with adequate skills in sensitising the people and also strengthen the effort of the State Government to further deal with the pandemic.

Receiving the officials in his office in Lokoja on Tuesday, the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Envagelist Kingsley Fanwo, said that the state government had been proactive in dealing with COVID-19, a development he noted had “recorded this level of success in dealing with the pandemic.”

Fanwo expressed optimism that the presence of the officials would consolidate on “the strong foundation laid by the State Government before now.”

He told the officials that the State COVID-19 Squadron Team had inaugurated a Contact Tracing Team, charged with the responsibility of identifying and locating persons manifesting Coronavrus signs and symptoms.

The online publication recalls that the state government and the centre were not on the same page, initially,on the novel Coronavirus which has registered about 15 million cases globally and thousands in Nigeria.

So far, kogi state has the lowest case(5),according to the statistics released by NCDC on the disease,as at the time of this report on Wednesday.
