Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has congratulated Kwarans and every Muslim household on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha (1441 AH), praying Almighty God to ease the current global pandemic and insure humanity against recurrence.
AbdulRazaq specifically felicitated with and commended the Emir of Ilorin, Dr Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, and the various religious establishments for their support for the government’s preventive measures ahead of the festivities.
AbdulRazaq urged every citizen to see the pandemic as a test from God which required a combination of faith in the Almighty, collective discipline, and a determination to defeat the common enemy by everyone.
“However, we must adhere to the protocols that would lead to the flattening of the curve,” he governor urged the people.
He also appealed to everyone, particularly the Muslim community, to spend the Arafat Day and the blessed Eid-,el-kanir celebration to pray to God for His mercies upon humanity.
The governor requested the Muslims to celebrate the occasion in their homes and in strict adherence to safety rules, adding that he would the occasion, privately, with his family.
“As a Government, one of the key takeaways from the COVID-19 pandemic is the need to be proactive and inventive in filling the socioconomic and infrastructural gaps that would make life easier for our people,”he added.
The Governor expressed optimism that Nigeria would emerge from the pandemic stronger and better.
He wished Kwarans and every Muslim household a blessed Eid-el-kabir and God’s Grace to see many of such occasion.
