Bomb blasts hit Maiduguri

Less than a week that the convoy of the Governor of Borno state, Prof.Babagana Umara Zulum was attacked by BokoHaram members, two bomb blasts have hit Maiduguri, capital of Borno state.

The blasts came on the eve of Sallah celebrations.

Duaglobalnews gathered that the first blast erupted at Gwannge, a residential area around 6p.m and the other blast where cars at Mairi, where cars are displaced for sale,all in the state capital.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Aliyu, confirmed the incident, adding that one person died while 16 others sustained injuries.

He said he had dispatched men of the explosive ordinance detection (EOD) to investigate the two incidents with a view to determining whether improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were used.

The police boss said he also visited the Specialist Hospital where 16 victims were receiving treatment.
