Some members of the public who spoke with Duaglobalnews on the tragedy development, urged the state government to look into the issue of contention over the ownership of ponds in the local government area of the state.

They identified conflict surrounding such natural resource as one of factors responsible for bloody clashes in many rural aread in the state.

They also called on the state Ministry of Information to embark on an aggressive enlightenment campaign, especially in the rural areas, on the need for people to see their differences as a challenge to forge the much needed unity to boost meaningful development in the state.
