Kogi Mob set Truck ablaze For Crushing Man To Death

The popular General Usman Katsina bend in lokoja, kogi state witnessed frenzy atmosphere on Tuesday morning, as a truck carrying cement allegedly belonging to Dangote Cement Company, crushed a pedestrian to death.

Duaglobalnews gathered that the vehicle also injured one of the deceased’s sons standing with him while the other escaped unhurt.

The injured son is said to be receiving treatment in one of the hospitals in the state capital.

The online publication further gathered from eyewitnesses that, the truck was about negotiating the bend, leading to Zone 8 roundabout, when it lost control and crushed the deceased standing around the bend with his two sons.

The driver of the truck was said to have taken to his heels seeing the horror while the onlookers quickly mobilised to formed a mob, attacked the truck and set it ablaze.

The Police Public Relations Officer, (PRO) for the Police Command in the state, DSP William Aya,confirmed the incident, noting however that it elicited made the people of the area to take the law into their hands and set the truck ablaze.

He said that the Command had commenced “full scale investigation into the matter.”
