COVID-19 hits Ghana judicial service

Reports reaching Duaglobalnews from The Herald, a newspaper in Ghana, indicate that the COVID-19, the six months old deadly pandemic which originated from Wuhan in China on December 31,2019 has hit Ghana’s Judicial service.

With this development, Herald said some senior judges and their staff in that West African country were down on isolation, receiving treatment.

Reports further have it that there have been series of the COVID-19 tests carried out at the superior courts, including the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, additional that some staff were tested positive of the virus.

Consequent upon this, the paper added that some courtrooms and offices located within the law complex building in Accra have been closed.

Duaglobalnews recalls that Justice Nasiru Ajanah, the Chief of Kogi state,Nigeria, died in Gwagwalada as a result of Coronavirus related case about two weeks ago.

No fewer than 28,000 cases of COVID-19 and more than 300 deaths have so far been recorded in Nigeria, the most populous black nation in the world.

The virus was first reported in Nigeria on February 27,2020.
