Buhari reconstitutes NNPC board

Abuja

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reconstitution of the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), after the expiration of the term of the board members appointed in 2016.

(Media and Publicity), made the disclosure in a statement in Abuja on Saturday.

According to the presidential aide, members of the new Board are: Mohammed Lawal (North West), Tajudeen Umar (North East), Adamu Mahmood Attah (North Central), Senator Magnus Abe (South South), Dr Stephen Dike (South East), and Chief Pius Akinyelure (South West).

He said the new board would be in place for three years.

Duaglobalnews gathered that NNPC is a Nigerian oil and gas corporation which came into existence on April 1, 1977.

It was created from merging the Nigerian National Oil Corporation( NNOC), with the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel.
