The United Labour Congress (ULC),kogi state branch, has joined in solidarity to reject 60 per cent salary for Kogi State Workers.
Comrde Simeon Opaluwa, State Chairman of ULC,who spoke the mind of the congress, described the action as deliberate, “wicked and unfortunate.”
Ooaluwa noted that out that Kogi State Government had no reason to pay its workforce in percentage, most especially that loan deduction by the Centra Bsnk of Nigeria(CBN) and the Federal Government had been waived till 2021, adding that the action of governent was “delibrate.”
Duaglobalnews reports that the rumour has been making round,since this week,to the effec that the state government would pay its workforce 60 per cent salary for May.
The rumour gained strength, following an alleged meeting between the organised labour and a representative of the state government,where the issue of 60 per cent salary originated.
Duaglobalnews recalls that the state government had in April, paid 80 per cent salary to its workers, blaming the development on loan repayment and dwindling monthly revenue allocation from the Federal government to the state.
The April percentage salary, however, did not include civil servants on grade level 6 down word and retirees who did not enjoy the earlier minimum wage and relativity while in service.
The judiciary staff, the online publication gathered also enjoyed full salary.
