COVID-19:Delta records first index case, commences contacting tracing—Gov

Delta state which has joined the league of states with COVID-19 index case says it has commenced contact tracing for such case in the state.

The Governor of the state, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, stated this in Asana on Wednesdaey in his state-wide broadcast to the people of the state on Coronavrus scourge.

He dismissed rumour that the confirmed case in the state was the lawmaker representing Ughelli North Constituency ll at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Prince Eric Oharisi.

The governor, however, declined to give details of the index case in, his broadcast.
Duaglobalnews reports that the nation has not recorded new case of Coronavrus in the last 12 hours as it maintains 254 cases.

Meanwhile, pilliatives measures by the Federal government, in form of conditional cash transfer and distribution of food items to the poor and the vulnerable, to cushion the effects of the scourge has commenced in some states of the federation.
