Police begin manhunt to rescue kidnapped aide of Nasarawa Governor

The Police Command in Nasarawa state says it has commenced a manhunt to rescue kidnapped Mr John Mamma, an aide to the Nasarawa Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule and get the kinappers to face justice.

Duaglobalnews reports that Mamma is the Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development.

Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), for the command, disclosed this while speaking with journalists on Sunday in Lafia.

The PPRO, who confirmed the kinapping of Mamman said the aide was abducted in his country home, Dari village of Kokona Local Government Area of the state on Saturday night.

He said that based on the information available to the command, about 10 unknown gunmen stormed the Mamman’s house around 8:00p.m and abducted him.

“The kidnappers stormed his compound and began shooting sporadically before whisking him to an unknown destination,” Nansel further told journalists.

According to Nansel, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Bola Longe has directed the Divisional Police Officer in the area and the Area Commander to mobilise and comb the bush to ensure the victim is rescued unhurt.
