The management of Azman Air recently have taken delivery of sixth aircraft; an Airbus A340-600 double-aisle plane as part of effort to reposition the airline to enable it go into full commercial service on the Umra and Hajj route.
In his speech on the arrival of the aircraft, at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, the President of Azman Group of companies, Dr Abdul-Manaf Yunusa Sarina, expressed the hope that the aircraft would impact on the operations of the airline.
He said:“The aircraft we had before and this Airbus 340-600 will boost the operational capacity of not only Azman Air, but also Kano state as well as Nigeria at large.
” This new plane and the other ones, if arrived, will contribute to reaching new international destinations as well as the existing destinations, the domestic destinations.
Sarina described the arrival of the new aircraft as a great development to Azman Air, adding that the airline was now witnessing a comprehensive arrangement to modernise its services to travellers.
According to him, it will also enable the company to meet the aspirations of the Azman Air and put it among the best airlines in the world.
“This new A340-600 will go into full commercial service on Umra and Hajj route. I therefore call upon our customers to always patronise us as we pledge to sustain our excellent services to them,” he urged.
He disclosed that the airline had signed partnership agreement with a profile Aviation Tools Company to provide quality spare parts and other equipment for the maintenance of all other Airbus planes to arrive.
According to him, the effort is in line with the company’s decision to develop the strategic partnership with other career institutions around the globe and operate world over.
Addressing the newsmen during the event, the Assistant General Manager of the company, Engineer Aliyu, described the occasion as: “Indeed a marvelous moment for Azman Air.”
“The arrival of this plane definitely marks the start of a new chapter in the development of not only Kano or the North, but the entire country.
” The increase seat capacity available on the aircraft will enable Azman Air to continue delivering significant contribution toward the growth of tourism and the economy of the country and boosts the GDP.”
Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil, who could not hide his excitement at the occasion said: “The arrival of “Airbus 340-600” marks an important milestone in the history of Kano and the entire country.
“Today, we are beyond proud to see the arrival of this beautiful plane in our dear state,” the cleric said.
Directors of the company along with the airline’s senior officials and stakeholders among others attended the event.
